Mr. Simon is a Partner of Easy Street Capital, overseeing the EasyRent division, which provides long-term financing on business-purpose 1-8 unit residential mortgage loans. He is responsible for managing all aspects of the EasyRent line, including the marketing, business development, operations and secondary/capital markets.

Over the past 10 years Mr. Simon has worked extensively in real estate finance, including roles with Deloitte, EY, Hunter-Kelsey, First National Assets and Stronghill Capital. This experience includes managing advisory engagements of billions of volume of CMBS securitizations, corporate financial modeling projects for tax-lien and commercial and residential mortgage pools and secondary market purchases and sales of investment property mortgages.

Mr. Simon began his career in Houston, Texas with Deloitte in their Audit and Enterprise Risk Services group, focusing on engagements with large public REITs. He then worked for EY’s Structured Finance Advisory Group, managing large-scale conduit and SASB CMBS transactions with a focus on due diligence and deal structure. He moved to Austin, Texas in 2018 in a corporate finance role working on capital markets, lending relationships and financial modeling for a series of real estate finance companies under Arrowmark Partners, with a focus on capital and secondary markets for tax lien assets, small balance commercial and investment residential mortgages.

Mr. Simon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & History from Vanderbilt University and Master in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a licensed CPA and active in the Austin real estate community, servicing on the Leadership Development Council (2020-2021) and membership committee (2018-Present) of the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA).
